Colours of Autumn
There's something about autumn that stays with you. For us, it starts before you even see it. That particular smell in the air, fallen leaves underfoot, a coolness that wasn't there last week. A reminder that winter is on its way, but hasn't arrived yet. That in-between feeling is the part he loves most.
Everything seems to slow down, and the colours that emerge feel less like a season and more like a mood.

Autumn is an invitation to go deeper with colour. Warm browns, terracotta, ochre, stone. These tones don't just sit on a wall, they change how a room feels entirely. If you want a space to feel genuinely cosy rather than just furnished, try carrying the same tone across both walls and ceiling. It brings the room in around you in a way that lighter colours simply don't.
This is also the season to put away the light linens. Reach for something with more weight to it. Velvet, corduroy, bouclé. Fabrics that ask to be touched, that feel different on a grey afternoon than they did in July. Paired with rustic wood, they add warmth without requiring you to change very much at all. Sometimes it's just a throw draped over an armchair, or a wool rug underfoot, and the whole room shifts.
The things you bring into a space matter as much as the surfaces. A vintage mirror. A well-chosen vase. A piece of antique furniture with a history you don't entirely know. These are the details that give a room character, the sense that it has been gathered over time rather than put together all at once.
And as the days shorten, lighting does more work. An oversized pendant or a sculptural floor lamp stops being a practical decision and becomes part of the room itself. Choose something that casts warmth rather than brightness, and let it settle.
